The story of a boy who survived, grew up and defeated Lord Voldemort led the list of the best book adaptations. It is reported by The Guardian, referring to a survey conducted among residents of the UK. 2 thousand people took part in it, 32% of them named the best movie adaptation of books about Harry Potter. The Hunger Games, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Godfather were also included in the 2016 film adaptations.
Here are the books included in the top 10 most popular film adaptations.
10. Forrest Gump
Posted by: Winston Groom
A sentimental story about a mentally inferior, but completely harmless man with an open soul, who was brilliantly played by Tom Hanks. Forrest teaches Elvis Presley how to dance, becomes a war hero, meets John F. Kennedy and Richard Nixon, opens up a profitable shrimp business and remains sincere, naive and kind.
9. The Hobbit
Posted by: John R.R. Tolkien
To film Tolkien's cult books is not an easy task. One wrong step and the army of thousands of fans will gang up on you. However, Peter Jackson has already proved that he can do difficult things by removing The Lord of the Rings. And with the "Hobbit" he coped perfectly well, as evidenced by the numerous laudatory reviews of critics and spectators.
8. "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory"
Posted by: Roald Dahl
Willy Wonka's factory can surprise even the most sophisticated sweet tooth. There is the Chocolate River and the Walnut Room, and candies that never melt. A charismatic factory owner (played by Johnny Depp) is a crazy genius who will punish bad children and reward good ones.
7. The Green Mile
Posted by: Stephen King
Another book adaptation in which the brilliant Tom Hanks played. Watching this movie is better without children, as it is quite heavy, on prison topics. The Green Mile is the road to the electric chair and must be passed by John Coffey, a black giant with unusual abilities, accused of killing two girls.
6. Series about Jason Bourne
Posted by: Robert Ludlam
Jason Bourne performed by Matt Damon looks no less interesting and dynamic than Bondiana. With Bond, everything is always clear, he will get out of any trouble, with a smile and in a clean (well, maybe just a little touched with soot from the next explosion) suit. But Bourne wants to empathize, he alone confronts the special services and his superiority is not the result of supermanagement, but a thorough analysis of the situation and lightning reaction.
5. James Bond Series
Posted by Jan Fleming
Smart, polite, ironic, elegantly dressed and at the same time an extra-class spy. What else is needed to charm the spectators and arouse envy and desire to imitate the male audience? At the time, James Bond was starred by eminent actors: Sean Connery, Pierce Brosnan, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton. He is currently played by Daniel Craig. As some joke, this is Bond with a Ryazan face.
4. The Lord of the Rings
Posted by: John R.R. Tolkien
Of course, this trilogy, which has already become a golden classic of fantasy, could not help but get into the top 10 best books that were filmed. Its creation took 7 years.
3. "Shawshank Redemption"
Posted by: Stephen King
Everyone who ends up in Shawshank Prison faces lawlessness and cruelty. However, the young banker Andy, unfairly accused of murder, refuses to put up with prison reality. After being convicted for life, he plans to escape.
2. "Christmas Carol"
Posted by Charles Dickens
A kind family picture of why it is important to remember good feelings, and not blindly chase wealth. Fortunately, the spirits of Christmas will give everyone a second chance to correct their mistakes.
1. Harry Potter Series
Posted by: Joan Rowling
It is difficult to find in Russia a child or an adult who has no idea about Harry Potter. The kind, brave, intelligent boy wizard and his friends became for many idols and role models. A wonderful acting, colorful characters, mean and cunning, but very memorable villains, a twisted plot - this is an incomplete list of Potteriana's merits.
